Fished the River Wye, Hereford

Posted by chrisfox on August 29, 2008

Had a great day with my mate Rich over at the River Wye. Its the first time that I’ve fished it and I was excited about the possibilities.

Had a small roach early on and then caught my new PB Barbel of 8lb 8oz.

Very good day!

Matchbox Rugby

Posted by chrisfox on August 24, 2008

We had a lovely lunch with our friends Mark and Sophie today… and I learnt a new game called Matchbox Rugby. I am rubbish at it. For more information check out www.matchboxrugby.wordpress.com.

However, I did win the card game back at ours later on… I am a terrible winner.

I’m adding some blogs to the blogroll… check them out.

A busy time…

Posted by chrisfox on August 23, 2008

Haven’t blogged for a while due to holidays and now I feel like I’ve got so much to say… however, thought that I’d condense my thinking and musing into one post. A challenge…

HOLIDAY

Isles of Scilly with family. Rained a lot. I took part in the “Daymark challenge” run on St Martins. I was rubbish. Watched a lot of the Olympics. Ate in a Michelin Starred restaurant. NICE.

OLYMPICS

Watched nearly every event… totally addicted. Loved beating the Aussies and seeing them get really annoyed. Highlight was Usain Bolt though… esp the 100m. Why oh why did the Boris come out before the end of the Olympics here to pee on our parade by stating we’re not going to spend loads on the the 2012 event. In fact we’re going to spend more than 60% less than the Chinese.

TODD BENTLEY

Very sad to hear about his marital difficulties (see Hitchmo and David Gate for more commentary)… what saddens me even more are the number of “Christians” who are ready with their headbashing scripture verses and “I told you so” attitude. I really wonder if they actually ever read the Bible, and certainly whether or not they have a grasp of not judging others, casting first stones etc etc etc.

MOVING HOUSE

We’re off to sunny Brizzle (or should I say Drizzle) on Mon 1st Sept. Scarey. The worst bit will be packing up our house again… I’ve not broken anything yet, but there’s a first time for everything.

WOLVES

Going to get promoted

ENGLAND

Have a bad feeling about our qualification campaign. REALLY hope I’m wrong.

That’ll do for now…

Back from New Wine…

Posted by chrisfox on August 11, 2008

We had a fab time leading the THIRST team this year – the weather was rubbish but that meant that more people came into the venue!

So many highlights…

Young people becoming Christians, miraculous healings (including a lad who was partially deaf having his hearing restored), amazing worship, fab team, catching up with old friends, God speaking really clearly to both of us, and on and on and on.

Personal favourite – getting my tooth kicked out during a game of “Knights, Horsemen, Cavaliers”. The video will appear on here soon…

Thanks to all the team that served… you were all legends!!

New Wine

Posted by chrisfox on August 1, 2008

Off today down to sunny Shepton to get ready for next week’s fun and games!

I’ve not been going as long as some but I wouldn’t miss it for anything… everything is nearly ready, except the usual last minute hitches and things we’ve forgotten.

Pray for the youth venue, for me and Matt as we host and lead, and for the young people… we long for them to encounter God in a new way.
